The same person may think in different ways depending on the situation or the subject matter, so I'm definitely not comfortable with making sex-based generalizations about the use of parallel vs. serial thought processes.

The point I was making in the post is that any studies claiming to "prove" that men and women display innate behavior differences are tainted by the fact that we've all been conditioned to behave in ways dictated by our gender from the time we are born. Even if you found results showing that women think in parallel and men think serially, how would you know if that was the consequence of biology or the result of social conditioning?UnrulyDucklinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10409351837497372198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31220735.post-28970039997776554092007-04-22T20:36:00.000-05:002007-04-22T20:36:00.000-05:00I'm curious about what you might think about this ...I'm curious about what you might think about this particular innate difference that rings true for me and my significant other and if you find it rings true. It is this: that women think in parallel (multiple things at once) and men think in serial (things one at a time/one after the other). --This tends to strike me as a purely biological difference, but I'd be curious to hear about other opinions or contradictory studies (I heard this from a relative).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31220735.post-52686107568384753302007-04-21T09:54:00.000-05:002007-04-21T09:54:00.000-05:00Well, Dave, from what we hear from Traivor, it's d...Well, Dave, from what we hear from Traivor, it's definitely not you. :)UnrulyDucklinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10409351837497372198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31220735.post-85301408785952394132007-04-20T22:31:00.000-05:002007-04-20T22:31:00.000-05:009 times out of 10 I'm a dude.9 times out of 10 Dav...9 times out of 10 I'm a dude.

9 times out of 10 David is a girl.

So there you have it.

I know that most of the "differences" that most people claim exist between women and men are due to socialization not biology. I could cite some studies so that you could see the data but I'm tired so maybe later. :)SerenitySpringshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04907905202697421654noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31220735.post-44622931553120091872007-04-20T22:06:00.000-05:002007-04-20T22:06:00.000-05:00Hmm, we seem to be finding out who wears the pants...Hmm, we seem to be finding out who wears the pants in the Dolly family.

:olunchstealerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17137400631077662786noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31220735.post-54895782585589517612007-04-20T12:57:00.000-05:002007-04-20T12:57:00.000-05:00I wonder what the result would be on someone who h...I wonder what the result would be on someone who had a sex change?chumlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05437149087404141014noreply@blogger.com
